“Sometimes you don’t realize the weight of something you’ve been carrying until you feel the weight of its release”

Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting my profile. I hope you will find enough information here to decide whether I might be a good match for your therapy needs.

I received my Master's of Counseling from Doane University in 2010. I am a Licensed Independent Professional Counselor, holding dual licensure as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner (license #2218) and Certified Professional Counselor (license #2265).

Throughout my career, I have worked with clients across the age spectrum (ages 5 to 65+) and in a variety of settings including outpatient, day treatment, in-home, senior care facilities, corrections, and college mental health. Populations I am passionate about include children/adolescents, families, military/veterans, young adults/college students, and clients involved with the child welfare or criminal justice systems. My areas of clinical experience include depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, behavior disorders, suicidality and self-injury, family therapy, and life transitions (include aging & end of life).

Diversity Statement: I am committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all clients regardless of their sex, gender identity and expression, ethnicity, race, language, culture, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, national origin, age, size, physical and mental abilities, and/or socioeconomic status. As a mental health professional, I recognize the impact of diversity issues such as discrimination, stereotypes, oppression, prejudice, acculturation, and identity development on an individual’s mental health and overall well-being. I am committed to my professional responsibility to continuously educate myself on diversity-related matters. I also strive to practice cultural humility and to maintain awareness of how my own cultural identities may impact the counseling relationship. I have worked with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds and I appreciate every opportunity to meet individuals whose cultural experiences differ from mine.
