Karen Judkins, PLMHP

I think being willing or the desire to be willing is a major factor in learning and growing through therapy. If you are viewing this profile, you possess this desire and therefore, have started the process of healing. I provide a safe space for people to explore their issues: emotional, mental, sexual, physical, and/or spiritual. I believe all aspects of health are related and when one area is disrupted, it disrupts the whole. Conversely, when one area is improved, the whole person improves. I also believe that we heal through being seen and heard and therapy is a unique opportunity to allow someone to feel that they are seen, heard, and ultimately accepted. This is how people begin to accept themselves. It is an honor to be a part of this process.

I believe that we all possess gifts, and mine is the ability to truly listen. I am non-judgmental and open to viewing the world from a variety of different perspectives. I will listen and provide guidance through this client led process.

My interest and purpose lies in working with anyone who is interested in improving their lives and learning self-acceptance. I am open to whomever comes into my office; I seek to work with individuals, couples, the LGBTQ+ population, and anyone experiencing sexual issues.

I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and graduated with a degree in Counseling in May 2020. I am a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner working under the supervision of a licensed counselor. I have experience working with incarcerated adult males who have committed a sexual offense through the Nebraska Department of Corrections. I think this work is crucial in stopping the cycle of sexual assault and abuse. I did my practicum in a community counseling setting, working with individual adults and couples experiencing a variety of mental health issues.

I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, walking the dog, and conjuring up creative ways to reduce and reuse. My pronouns are she/her/hers. Finding the right therapist is essential to the therapeutic process. I hope that you find the therapist for you. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out.
